My husband booked this hotel for our anniversary. The room we were put in was not the room we had e mail confirmation of. There were buckets in the hallway collecting rain water. Towels in the corridor in a corner (dirty washing) it was very run down and needs repair work.
Close to windsoe
Very noisy due to planes and train line right behind hotel.

The place was pleasant and restaurant was good. Loved how the petite double room was arranged when we arrived. The location was unbeatable - within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. This hotel was located in a lovely area. Got wake up service free of charge, not bad too.

A very pleasant hotel, especially the staff. At all times they were courteous, helpful and very pleasant, exactly what you would expect from any hotel. We had one of their "Petite" doubles and found it to be quite adequate for our needs. The whole building was clean and tidy and very well presented. The restaurant was light, airy and comfortable and the food was great, although my wife's Sunday dinner was cooked at lunchtime and re-heated which made it slightly dry but still very edible. We were using this hotel for a particular reason and should that reason arise again, we would return without hesitation. Very enjoyable.
We felt that should the weather be hotter than it was for our stay, the building would probably be quite stuffy, with no air-conditioning. Our room would also be noisy if a window was needed to be opened due to the busy road below. A couple of the restaurant staff do need some basic training on restaurant etiquette, ie; serving the lady first, supplying a wine list with the menus. Minor things but if left, could escalate. Not too much to criticize.

The highlight of my stay was enjoying a hot buffet breakfast with a lovely variety. the outdated decor and the cramped bathroom were disappointing aspects that need attention.

Great location to Heathrow and bar/restaurant were excellent
Room 213 very small - Petit wasn't the word! (Lucky you didn't give me a cat to swing!) And parking not easy, but overall ok

Good service, and different more personal atmosphere from the usual Holiday Inn etc that I usually book
Advertised as parking space, not quite like that! Room was very warm, I tried and tried to turn the radiator off, unsucessfully.

Historic ambience, diverse room options, scenic train rides
The carpets throughout the hotel are stained and unkempt rooms spoil any charm!!! Maintenance should address broken amenities and poor lighting in rooms for a more comfortable stay!!! A good scrub and modern updates are long overdue!!!

We had a lovely experience with a good breakfast spread and the lovely bathtub in the room. Despite some worn areas, it felt cozy and acceptable for the price. Would definitely return!

Been here about 15 years ago and decided to return. Location handy for everywhere. Only downside was when one of your staff got an electric shock from a socket in our room, when investigating a faulty bedside lamp!

The breakfast was good and the morning serving staff friendly. The location is ideal for a weekend visiting Windsor. The public areas were very nice and comfortable.
Disinterested reception staff. Poor service in the bar & restaurant in the evening. A room advertised as "classic double room, recently refurbished" was anything but - it was poky, untidy and completely underwhelming. Old TV with very limited channel choice and not viewable from the bed, The bathroom was very small and not well cleaned - the bath itself dangerous as very slippery when showering. We had a room over the function room - they knew they had a function booked but they still put us in there even though the hotel was not very busy. It is no good telling us at 8.00 pm that it will be noisy. It is certain that even if we had been moved the noise would still have been ubearable - the hotel is too small to have functions that are noisy late into the night. Made worse by cleaning staff coming on shift at 06.00 chattering loudly, at length, under our window. Just what we needed after an already terrible nights (lack of) sleep!

The hotel had character and I had a nice room with a very comfortable bed with good cotton sheets! I had a very good meal in the hotel restaurant. Free parking at the hotel which was next to the station so handy for trips into London.
I had a small double room in the roof. The velux window in the room would not open and the bathroom window opened straight onto the extraction from the hotel kitchens which was smelly and noisy. The shower curtain was dirty and there was not space to actually close it with me inside as its rail was too close to the wall/corner. There was no bulb in the bedside lamp. For £65 a night I would have expected better, also this did not include breakfast.
